If you are looking at DR Horton in Star farms, start running now. If I could give 0 stars I would. My family and I purchased a home in 2023 from DR Horton in Star Farms. It started with a terrible superintendent that made excuses for everything and rushed the completion of our property by 3 months which turned into months of headaches. We should have known when we walked our property in April months earlier than scheduled and found drug paraphernalia on our window sill that We would have had nothing but problems and headaches ever since. Dealing with DR Horton in every way has been terrible between warranty advisors who fight you tooth and nail about everything to avoid providing customers with a quality home to the superintendents that use illegal drugs and leave drug paraphernalia on your window sill to the customer service Manager Rob Draper who denies handling or resolving issues with improper warranty repairs. DR Horton mission is to provide quality homes but Rob Draper doesn’t live by this mission or support the DR Horton mission of quality as he continues to deny repairing poor improper warranty repairs done in my home. DR Hortons warranty vendor came into my home to repair my subfloor issues (holes and high spots in subflooring on 2nd floor of home). This vendor came in after 6 months of fighting to get warranty to address the concerns with the subfloor. Then the vendor they send comes with Duct tape and Concrete to repair my wood subfloors on my 2nd floor of home. The vendor applied concrete and then duct tape over the concrete. These improper poor repairs have failed and holes have returned. DR Horton sent the same incapable vendor to re-repair but with specific instructions to not lift carpet because RWC says they aren’t required. The vendor could not repair the improper repairs due to this. Rob Draper DR Horton Customer service manager says it’s not “warrantable” and they will not lift the carpet, in other words they won’t fix the improper repairs and are standing by this decision with repeated declines to repair with stating “not warrantable” but it’s not warranty it’s fixing improper work done by a DR Horton vendor sent into my home under DR Horton direction. The quality of work in these homes are atrocious at best. They do not stand behind anything and once you close and get in the home, good luck you’re on your own.
I would not trust your investment with DR Horton and purchase a home from them ever. If you have the choice run now and go somewhere else. Unless you want a home repaired with duct tape and concrete.
